Frickin' Cool [mac mini]

So apparently whatever I've been doing to my new device has caused it to entirely refuse to boot from anything that isn't a CD-ROM. Like, my hard drive. Even after reinstalling OS X. Seriously. But hey, that's better than nothing! I can still boot from CDs!

If only rEFIt (the one that's built into the mactel-linux live CD) had an "eject CD" option, I'd be able to use the elilo.efi on my USB disk, swap in my dapper install CD, and go for life. But no such luck!

Did you try to reset the pram? This is the only thing I can think of, which could cause problems after a Mac OS reinstall.

I've got a list of things to try tonight after work. I'll add this to it. Thanks :-)

* bless CoreServices/boot.efi
* Make sure startup disk is set sanely
* reset NVRAM/PRAM
* Totally fresh OS X install, deleting the entire partition map and installing with the "reformat" option.

Unfortunately, I've not had luck with startup keystrokes so far. With my windows USB keyboard, I have *never* been able to get the boot volume selector screen (I've tried alt, windows-key, etc).
